South Hollingdean residents' parking scheme

Have your say on proposals for a residents' parking scheme in your area and make sure your voice is heard!

We're asking residents both north and south of the area known locally as ‘The Dip’ for their views on how they’d like to move forward. The Dip consists of Hollingbury Crescent, Hollingbury Place and The Crossway.

If you're in the area south of, or including The Dip, view the proposals and let us know what you think.

Have your say before Sunday 9 March.

Take a look at the background information and FAQs in phase 1 before completing the questionnaire.

Implementation

30 August 2025 23:00 - No end date

The report showing the results of the traffic regulation order and decision to proceed with the south Hollingdean residents’ parking zone has been published and can be found on the Council’s website at the following link: https://democracy.brighton-hove.gov.uk/ieDecisionDetails.aspx?ID=7551

We plan to have this zone in place by 13th April subject to completing the changes in signage and lines to mark out the parking bays and restrictions associated with this scheme.

Residents and businesses in the area will also be contacted 6 to 8 weeks prior to the scheme going live with information on how to purchase a permit.

Road Lining Schedule

We'll place advanced notices on street a minimum of 48 hours before work begins. Lining work can be affected by weather, this may sometimes cause delays. Changes to the schedule will be posted here.

If you park your vehicle on a street where we have scheduled work

We ask that you move your vehicle, where possible, to a nearby street before the scheduled work begins. If you don't, we may have to relocate your vehicle.

We only relocate vehicles as a last resort. If we relocate your vehicle, we'll move it to a road as close as possible to the original location.
