Secondary school admission arrangements engagement exercise
We want to know what you think about possible changes to secondary school admission arrangements.
Please view the background information tab below to see the full information about this engagement exercise. There is a briefing paper and a PowerPoint presentation containing visuals of the illustrative models we are seeking views on.
These different models could help us develop a fair and inclusive education system where available school places align more closely with pupil numbers, which in turn will assist with budget sustainability.
Have your say
We are seeking views from pupils, parents, school staff and the community.
Your feedback is vital in helping us understand the potential impacts of the proposal and inform the decision making process.
Have your say until Wednesday 23 October.

Statement from October provided here: Next steps on secondary school admissions
It is likely that a report will go to December 2024 Cabinet meeting. Cabinet will decide whether to carry out a formal consultation on making a change to secondary school admission arrangements.
Any changes agreed to school admissions in the city would need to be taken by the end of February 2025 and would take effect from September 2026.
