Safer, Better Streets - Nevill Avenue/ Holmes Avenue

We’re looking to improve the crossings on Nevill Avenue and Holmes Avenue to make the junction safer for all users.

Every year we assess requests for safety improvements all over the city, using our 'Safer, Better Streets’ assessment process.

The proposed improvements include:

  • Upgrading the current crossing points on Nevill Avenue to zebra crossings
  • Making the Holmes Avenue crossing point near the junction with Nevill Avenue more accessible

The survey is open until 2 September 2024 and should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.

This design aims to address safety issues with the current layout of the junction.

We received requests to assess this site due to safety concerns and the proposed improvements will make the junction more functional, more accessible and safer for all users, particularly vulnerable users.

We anticipate construction will take place in 2025. We'll provide more detailed information closer to the work starting.
