North Hollingdean residents' parking scheme

Have your say on proposals for a residents' parking scheme in your area and make sure your voice is heard!

We're asking residents both north and south of the area known locally as ‘The Dip’ for their views on how they’d like to move forward. The Dip consists of Hollingbury Crescent, Hollingbury Place and The Crossway.

If you're in the area north of The Dip, view the proposals and let us know what you think.

Have your say before Sunday 9 March.

Take a look at the background information and FAQs in phase 1 before completing the questionnaire.

North area results

Thank you for participating in our consultation on the introduction of a new residents’ parking scheme in the north area of Hollingdean.

In January, we wrote to residents in Hollingdean north and south of the area known locally as ‘The Dip’, which consists of Hollingbury Crescent, Hollingbury Place and The Crossway.

We asked them for their views on our proposals for a residents’ parking scheme in both areas (North Hollingdean and South Hollingdean). We received more than 1,600 responses.

Having reviewed the comments and feedback, the results indicate the majority of respondents in the north area do not support a residents’ parking scheme. Therefore, the consultation will close and a parking scheme will not proceed in this area.

A parking scheme will be taken forward in the south Hollingdean area with residents there strongly in favour.

Headline Findings

Support for a resident parking scheme:

• 70.6% of respondents do not support the implementation of a residents’ parking scheme

• 29.4% of respondents support the implementation of a residents parking scheme

• The consultation received a response rate of 57%

419 valid responses* were received from within the proposed scheme boundary, giving a response rate of 57%.

*190 cases were removed from the analysis: 125 of these were duplicates and 92 were from outside the area boundary. 29 were both duplicates and from outside of the area.

Please see the following breakdown of results, including an image showing how each street responded when asked:

'After considering the scheme design, would you like this residents' parking scheme in your area?'

The below image shows a table of results on a street-by- street basis.
