Changing the use of Moulsecoomb playing field

We’re building a new community hub and more than 200 council homes in Moulsecoomb!

We’ve received planning permission to build on the land formerly used by the Moulsecoomb north and south hubs and the 67 Centre, as well as the surrounding area.

The plans include a community building, new homes, green spaces and sports facilities including a 3G pitch and skate park.

The new facilities will improve the services and facilities for local residents.

Gathering your views

To include the playing field off Hodshrove Lane in our plans, we’ll need to submit an application to change the use of the school playing field to sports facilities for community use.

As part of this process, we’re gathering your views on the proposed change of use.

The survey is open until Sunday 21 July and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

For more information about the wider programme, visit our Moulsecoomb housing and community hub webpage.

29 July 2024 - No end date

All the views put forward during the consultation stage will be considered prior to making a final decision on whether to submit an application under the legislation that protects school playing field land.

The proposals set out in this document are put forward as a basis for consultation only. We'd stress that the decision will only be made by the Secretary of State after consultations have been completed and all views carefully considered by the council.

Should the council decide to go ahead with the application to change the use of this site, any views expressed during this consultation will be reflected in the application to the Secretary of State.
