Changing the use of Moulsecoomb playing field
We’re building a new community hub and more than 200 council homes in Moulsecoomb!
We’ve received planning permission to build on the land formerly used by the Moulsecoomb north and south hubs and the 67 Centre, as well as the surrounding area.
The plans include a community building, new homes, green spaces and sports facilities including a 3G pitch and skate park.
The new facilities will improve the services and facilities for local residents.
Gathering your views
To include the playing field off Hodshrove Lane in our plans, we’ll need to submit an application to change the use of the school playing field to sports facilities for community use.
As part of this process, we’re gathering your views on the proposed change of use.
The survey is open until Sunday 21 July and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Phases
Background
Planning has now been agreed for a new community hub and more than 200 council homes on a number of underused sites in Moulsecoomb.
The proposals are to develop on land formerly used by the Moulsecoomb north and south hubs and the 67 Centre, as well as the surrounding area.
The aim is for the new community building to improve the services and facilities available for residents of Moulsecoomb and Bevendean.
Services and facilities that could be located in the hub include a GP Surgery and other health facilities, Moulsecoomb Library, adult learning spaces and a community café.
Our plans also include a new centre for youth services within the hub, with a separate entrance.
Bringing services together into a new purpose-built centre frees up a number of sites to build 200 new council homes.

What we've consulted on so far
We held 8 ‘suggestion sessions’ in January and February 2020 at sites across the Moulsecoomb area.
An additional ‘prioritisation session’ was held in March 2020, where groups highlighted which suggestions they felt should be prioritised.
A total of 1,700 suggestions were recorded.
