Safer, Better Streets - Goldstone Villas Roundabout
We’re looking to improve the Goldstone Villas roundabout as part of our Safer, Better Streets programme.
Every year we assess requests for safety improvements all over the city, using our 'Safer, Better Streets’ assessment process.
The proposals for this scheme focus on the crossroads on Goldstone Villas, Eaton Villas and Clarendon Villas where there is currently a mini roundabout.
The proposed improvements to the layout include:
- Removing the mini roundabout
- Creating a raised junction to reduce speeds
- Installing give-way instruction lines on Clarendon Villas at the junction with Goldstone Villas
- Widening the pavements on Eaton Villas and Clarendon Villas at the junctions to create more space for pedestrians
- Making the junction of Eaton Villas and Goldstone Villas one way for motor vehicles
- Improving the pedestrian crossing point on Eaton Villas
- Adding a new crossing point across Goldstone Villas
- Upgrading the current crossing on Clarendon Villas to a zebra crossing

· Making the junction of Eaton Villas and Goldstone Villas one way for motor vehicles
· Installing give-way lines on Clarendon Villas at the junction with Goldstone Villas
· Widening the pavements on Eaton Villas and Clarendon Villas at the junctions to create more space for pedestrians
· Improving the pedestrian crossing on Eaton Villas

All diversion routes will be clearly signposted. Residents and businesses within the closure will still retain access to their properties. On-street parking may be temporarily restricted.
