Brighton & Hove's budget challenge

We face a £30 million budget shortfall next year and must make extremely difficult decisions on where to cut the services we provide.

To show residents the significant challenge and impact of making decisions on reducing funding for services, we've launched an online ‘budget simulator’ and we're hosting 2 budget engagement events.

Balancing the budget

We’re inviting residents to help us balance next year’s budget using our new budget simulator.

In the simulator you can explore how we spend on services and make crucial but difficult decisions on which services you’d take money from, which services you’d protect or which you’d stop funding all together.

This will help us understand what’s important to you when making our budget proposals later this year.

To have a go at balancing our budget in the budget simulator, press the button below.
