Road narrowing/pavement size increase at Powis Road/Clifton Hill junction

From "Better Brighton & Hove fund"

Go to the project

Currently there is a huge gap to cross at Powis Road, when people are using the pavement along the south side of Clifton Hill. This makes it less safe for children, the elderly, and disabled pavement users in particular, and the wide corners also make it easier for drivers to enter/exit Powis Road without slowing down, making crossing around this area even more dangerous. Widening the pavements and narrowing the road would make it safer for everyone, and could even create space for more trees, cycle parking/hangars/etc
