Reinstate roadside trees

I am advised that the City arborealist is undertaking a tree survey in the Withdean area. In recent years most of the trees that once grew on the grass verge in Gableson Avenue Withdean have been lost through old age or physical damage. They have never been replaced. I suggest that they are replaced in order to enhance the immediate environment. Five or six suitable saplings, plus stakes, restraining ties and temporary tree guards, is all thats needed to fix the problem. I wrote to the Council about this three years ago, and at the time several residents expressed willingness to assist by digging the holes, planting and watering the young trees. I accept that this may not be practical but is shows community willingness to help. A thououghfare described as an avenue should always have trees growing along them!
