The PAYPR Music Studio project aims to create a vibrant, supportive space where young people can explore their creativity through music. The highly requested music studio space will provide access to modern recording equipment, production tools, and hands-on mentorship from mentors and youth workers. Designed to inspire talent and build confidence, the project focuses on skill development, collaboration, and self-expression. Workshops, training sessions, and performance opportunities will help young participants learn songwriting, production, and audio engineering. By fostering a safe, inclusive environment, the PAYPR Organisation Music Studio will empower youth to discover their artistic potential and develop valuable creative and technical skills for the future.
There is a clear demand for a dedicated youth music studio based on several community indicators. Local young people often lack access to affordable creative spaces and modern equipment, limiting opportunities for skill development. On the back of our current youth club which is provided weekly along with our 1:1 mentoring service, music production and experimentation is the most highly requested activity when young people are asked for what they would like to add to the local area and service. Schools and youth centres also frequently report high interest in music-related activities but have insufficient resources to meet that demand. Community feedback highlights a need for safe, positive environments that engage youth and reduce antisocial behaviour. Additionally, creative industries are growing locally, yet pathways for young talent remain limited. This infrastructure addresses gaps in youth provision, supports wellbeing, and creates opportunities aligned with local aspirations.
