More Cycle Hangers

From "Better Brighton & Hove fund"

Go to the project

More cycle hangers for residents, specifically those who live around the Lanes area, which is the ONLY area in Brighton that did not have any cycle hangers installed whatsoever, which is odd when considering that people who live here are mostly above shops and retail outlets even on the seafront, so have a greater need than those who live in surrounding areas who are far more likely to have outside space.

There is little point joining up the seafront with valley gardens 3 cycle paths if no one can own a bike, you're just installing the infrastructure for tourists and people who don't live here.

Looking at the cycle hanger map, it's clear that the area here in and around the lanes has intentionally been skipped over, I suspect it's been done by a council who claim to be pushing to be carbon nutral, but as soon as it comes to seeing any of the required facilities they would rather not have to look at anything to do with bikes.

Brighton should be leading the way, not hiding hangers away from high traffic areas. There are plenty of spaces on Middle Street, Black Lion St etc.

Yes please! We would love to have some bike hangers! Me and my housemate would love to have bikes but as we live in flats we don’t have the storage for them. Also many could use their cars less if they could have bikes
