With the new convenience store currently being fitted out in the Cowley Drive shops, it would be a good time to improve the area outside - and encourage the building owners to improve the dilapidated fabric of the exterior at the same time.
Private investment alongside public money from this fund would greatly improve this area, which is a busy hub for buses and people visiting the chemist and post office.
The steps and grassed areas in front of the shops could do with a makeover, perhaps with provision for some outdoor cafe-style seating. The soon-to-be vacated shop at the end of the parade needs sympathetic consideration for permission for a cafe or similar to better animate the area as a centre of the community in the southern part of Woodingdean.
