Heritage and Wildlife Trails through the Round Hill Ward
From "Better Brighton & Hove fund"
Go to the project
I would like to propose the creation of several heritage and wildlife trails that traverse the Round Hill ward.
- Trail Panels:
- Each trail would begin and end with a “Welcome to Round Hill” panel. These panels would feature:
- A simple map of the route
- Key information about Round Hills' history and culture
- Illustrations to make the content accessible and visually engaging
- Wayfinding and Interpretation:
- Smaller wayfinder panels would be placed along the trails to:
- Highlight places of interest
- Share stories of notable residents and communities connected to Round Hill
- Provide information about the wildlife unique to the area
- Connectivity Across the City:
- These trails would form part of a wider network, linking with similar trails in adjacent wards. Together, they would create cross-city routes stretching east to west, and connecting the seafront with the South Downs.
This initiative would celebrate Round Hill's rich heritage, promote local biodiversity, and encourage residents and visitors alike to explore the area in a meaningful, sustainable way.
