Bring back Hanover Day, the Samba Encontro, and Kemptown Carnival ?

Hi there, I've been here long enough to remember the wonderful events we used to have such as Hanover Day and the huge samba Encontro. Events like this fostered community spirit, provided spaces for residents to enjoy their neighborhoods car free and meet fellow residents, and in the case of The Encontro brought world class musiciana from all over, and money to the city. It was the reason so many of our schools have samba bands. Yes, there will be noixe complaints, but it's one or two days, and the city is full of noise, most of it unpleasant. These events being joy.
